Indian Colorfest

Saturday we went to the annual spring colorfest at the Krishna temple in Spanish fork. All I can say is...CRAZY! Basically it's a festival to worship the Hindu god Krishna and to celebrate fertility. There was singing and dancing in the temple, which was SO fun. I was tempted to pull out my Bollywood dance workout moves (thank you, Celeste). Then we and the other hundreds of people at the festival bought packets of colored chalk and after a countdown threw them all over each other! I don't know when I've had more fun.

Walking to the temple. Clean, but not for long.

Outside of the temple. It was beautiful!

Waiting for the powder throwing to begin...

Some people were a little overzealous and began throwing chalk at me before the countdown had started.

COUNTDOWN AND CRAZY POWDER THROWING!

Me Kasee and Bre. Filthy but happy!

The crew!

Okay, it was fun, but I have to tell you that when the countdown was over and hundreds of people began throwing fistfuls of colored powder into the air, the sky basically went dark and I couldn't breath for a couple minutes. It was a real third Nephi experience. All day long after that I was coughing up rainbows. And my shower is ruined :) but it was worth it. I want to do it again.

The Sticks

T'was the night before the ward talent show,
and all through the house,
3 girls were frantically planning, which frightened a mouse,
planning something to do for the ward talent show,
the answer came almost too suddenly: GLOW!

That's right. We performed a glow-in-the-dark stick figure dance routine on stage. It was absolutely amazing. SO funny. Here are some pics. If you ever want to try this at home, plan on using a million glow sticks and about three rolls of tape.
